Position Summary: The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential and manufactured homes. This position ensures all equipment is installed correctly, operates efficiently, and meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install residential HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and ventilation equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, installation drawings, and equipment specifications.
Measure, cut, assemble, and install duct systems and components.
Install thermostats, controls, and related HVAC accessories.
Connect electrical wiring and refrigerant lines according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
Test HVAC systems to verify proper operation and performance.
Ensure all installations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles safely.
Complete installation paperwork and documentation accurately.
Work closely with construction crews, supervisors, and other trades to meet project schedules.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous HVAC installation experience preferred.
Knowledge of HVAC equipment, duct systems, and installation techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
Understanding of HVAC safety procedures and building codes.
EPA Certification preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders, crawl, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to stand and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
Experience with residential new construction or manufactured/mobile home HVAC installations.
Knowledge of duct fabrication and installation.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
