Two Rock’s have been my favorite amp line for a long time. Their clean tones sit perfectly in the mix and the way they work with my pedals is the sound I hear in my head.
The Studio Pro 22, with a Gain control and Master Volume is the perfect amp for rehearsals, recordings and gigs. It‘s more than loud enough to keep up with your drummer. While the Master Volume allows you to practice late night without making a ruckus.
Instead of High / Low impedance inputs that you’d find on Fender and Marshall, Two Rock’s devised a single input with a five position Pickup Loading switch. It works really well - almost feels like a compressor - at dialing out the top end shrill tones that occur when a 6V6 amp gets a little too much input gain. The lowest setting is for vintage style single coils. The highest setting would be for active EMG style pickups. This allows the player to use their guitars entire range on the volume pot without sounding muffled when it’s low or brittle when it’s on 10.
The built in Reverb has Send / Return that allows you to dial in the perfect balance of wet / dry signal rather than just turning up the reverb effect, you can dictate how much of your signal is routed to the reverb. This approach allows you to keep some reverb in your signal when you add heavy overdrive and even fuzz. Normally, fuzz and verb don’t play well together. With the Two Rock, you can add in a minuscule amount of verb that complements the fuzz and makes the amp feel much bigger.
The effects loop is active and works in the same way. You can crank up your intensity in your chorus effect and get the full throb but you can tame it in the return so it sits better in the mix. You can also pull it up to brighten those dark echoes. Your pedals will never sound better or be more useable.
I could go on and on but the bottom line is that the Studio Pro 22 covers a whole lot of ground.
Two Rock Amps are designed with your pedal board in mind. If you love your drives and delays, they’ll never sound better. If you use the H90 or the VP4, Helix, Quad Cortex, etc., the Studio Pro 22 is an excellent platform to add real amp in the room. It’s built to last several lifetimes and resale values are guaranteed to stay high. Money in the bank!
