(Price is per cabinet. The pictures shown above are of 4 cabinets already in use and while they are from the same “Lot” they and their contents are NOT for sale.)
Each of the remaining Glass display cases come with the same heavy duty 1/2” thick glass shelves. Excellant for anything that benefits from 360 degree viewing.
The cases were illuminated by a fluorescent light. The ballast and on off switch we’re located on the 5” wooden bases. The bases were removed to facilitate moving, and the wires were cut and are still available for splicing. When these cases were made fluorescent lighting was the rave. Today, the existing wiring could be used to power an LED strip for less than the cost of a hamburger at Dennys.
The bases are made of wood that can be used or eliminated.
The sliding glass doors can lock using the standard display case locks available on line for a few bucks.
The tops are also glass so light from above give natural light to the contents. Each unit comes with 3 shelves. I have 2 cabinets that are pinned for 4 shelves and they are $150 more expensive.
Glass Shelves alone are well over a hundred dollars so this is a good package deal. The cabinets have never been stored outside in the weather but two stacks of shelves were. Those shelves have developed water stains that I am seeking a solution to rid them of the mineral like “stain”. If they for some reason cannot be returned to their natural greatness I will reduce the cost of the display cases left with this issue.
The cabinets are 72” tall X 24” deep x 48” wide. The base adds like a out 5” to the height so about 76” to 77” tall with base attached. There are 3 left of the 8 that I acquired. Most (if not all of the pictures) shown in the ad are of 4 cases I delivered to the Ocala Fire Department Fire Museum.
Those are therefore NOT AVAILABLE and are being shown for illustrative purposes only. All of the 8 cases were previously owned by a Federal agency and retired. They were in storage for a extended period of time before I got them and then I gave them another extended period of time in storage.
They are dusty and dirty, and need to be cleaned. There are also some minor scuff marks which could be expected with anything that gets moved around. These are not brand spanking new out of a box, but they are definitely not beat up.
These cases when they were manufactured cost approximately $10,000 and I’m not kidding. And creating and shipping from California was not included in that price. These are extremely well-made, museum grade display cases.
