When applying as a Caregiver, candidates must have at least 1 yr. (s) experience in the Health Care field. Applicants must be a licensed CNA, certified HHA or experienced caregiver to work with our elderly or disabled residents.
Caregivers assist residents with various non-skilled ADLs for our residents to remain living independently. NOTE: We are not a skilled agency we only provide cnas, hha or sitters to assist ones in need. (Nurses, PT or OT we do not provide)
It must be understood upon hiring the expectations of daily tasks and duties this position requires.
ADLs - Caregivers must be able to assist with resident ADL 's. ADL’s are routine activities residents conduct on a daily basis, which normally wouldn’t require assistance. Six basic ADLs : eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring (Lifting) (walking) and continence.
Medications - Caregivers must able to remind, assist and manage resident medications. (Each resident P.O.C will be detailed as to which medication task is required.)
On Call - Caregivers must understand when working with elderly and disabled emergencies will take place. On each shift workers are given the resident emergency phone to be able to answer emergencies if such took place. The resident phone must stay with caregivers at all times and are allowed to utilize phone for work purposes ONLY!
Rounds (pop-ins) - All shifts are to conduct rounds every 2-3 hours for resident safety. Rounds are merely a gesture of concern to be sure that residents are in need of nothing and that they are safe and sound.
Light housekeeping- Can consist of taking out trash, reassuring resident sinks are free of dishes, the making of beds, room clean up (making sure residents belongings are in correct places) and floor safety for fall precautions.
Meals- Caregivers must be able to assist residents to and from all meals and or deliver meals to resident rooms upon request.
Transportation services- applicants are to have reliable transportation to assist residents to and from appointments and or daily outings. (i.e., grocery shopping, church, BINGO, movies.)
Laundry- Caregivers must be able to conduct completing laundry to the residents liking. Candid Care provides laundry services for residents on a weekly basis. Our staff must pick-up, wash dry and fold laundry, deliver to residents room and place them in proper placing’s.
Pets- Some residents may have pets needing to be walked, it is candid cares community caregiver responsibility to walk pets twice daily morning and evening. NOTE: it is vital that pets are picked up after.
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 yrs experience in the Health Care or In Home Care field
Successful completion and proof of Certified Nurse Aide program to be hired as an HHA
Active Florida CNA license
Current CPR certification
The 7 Florida certificates required to work in health care. Can be found on cnazone.com
